I just cannot understand why there are people who cannot stop complaining about other people? Are they happier exposing fellow colleagues' weaknesses/faults? Why do they stoop so low as to complain excessively about one's weakness and even report it to the Supervisor? What do they stand to gain out of all these discouraging acts of selfishness?
Complaints, complaints, complaints... ...
I sure hope that these people who derive joy out of complaining/demeaning others will realise that they are often the ones with the biggest problems.
Give others a chance to improve themselves. Advise them, guide them along patiently and I am sure, respect will be earned.
Respect is to be earned, not demanded. Just because one staff is more seasoned than the other, it does not give the so-called "seniors" to demean others. Good teamwork is not only about working together with like-minded people but also helping one another to improve. A senior staff who only criticizes and amplifies a new staff's faults will eventually be the most unpopular person at any workplace and they have only themselves to blame when other staffs begin to distant themselves from them.
Be generous with encouragements and the returns will be more than one can ask for.
