On Friday, 11th July 2008, I decided to go home after work as I needed to get enough sleep. I was thinking of going to work at 7am the next day to help clear as much work as possible as there were extra blocks to be cut due to machine breakdown.

So, I went home, had dinner and went to sleep at around 1030pm. Wow, this must be the earliest time I went to sleep this year.

0140, 12/07/2008, Saturday

The on-call mobile phone rang and I was needed to report to work at 6am. Alright, I had another 3 hours of sleep. I adjusted my alarm and went back to sleep. During this time, I had very weird dreams and even dreamt that I did not report to work and LG had to relieft me. Weird... ...

0445, 12/07/2008, Saturday

The phone ran again.

Mr Loh could not be reached and the coordinator had already called him dunno 15 times or 50 times.

The coordinator was worried and asked me if I could contact him. I told her I had Mr Loh's home number and that I would try to contact him.

Ring...Ring...Ring...ring...

Mr Loh's mother: Hello?

Me: Hi! Can I speak to Mr Loh please?

Mr Loh's mother: Who is this?

Me: I am calling from work.

Mr Loh's mother (calling Mr Loh to answer the phone, but... ...): He's sleeping. What do you want?

Me: I am calling from work. He's needed at work.

Mr Loh's mother: But he's sleeping.

Me (speaking in Mandarin): Please inform him that he needs to report to work at 6am. Just tell him that is "... ..." case and he will know. I am calling from work. Just tell him to report to work at 6am, today, which is only one hour later. Thanks!

Mr Loh's mother: Alright.

After that, I informed the coordinator that Mr Loh had been contacted and that we would be on our way to work. And of course, while I was getting ready in the bathroom, Mr Loh had to call and asked me to explain why he was the one to be activated and not the one on Saturday duty. I then informed him that the one on Saturday duty was to be activated if the case was to be done at 8am onwards.

Sigh... ...It was only 0450 and I was on the verge of scolding Mr Loh.

0550, At Work (all the way till 3pm)

Mr Loh: Oh, you are already here. Is the case here yet.

Me: Not yet. Think it will arrive at 6am.

Mr Loh: I think they are going to be an hour late. You wait and see. They are not punctual one.

Me: Can you look after my bag while I go and get a drink?

Mr Loh: Can you get me a drink too?

Me: No, you can go and get yours after I'm back. You cannot drink here.

Mr Loh: Then I follow you and get a drink too.

Me: Ok.

After the drink... ...

Me: Did you have breakfast?

Mr Loh: Are you crazy? So early, how to have breakfast? You want to prepare breakfast for me?

Me: No way! Why should I prepare breakfast for you? We are not even related!

Mr Loh: Oh... ...

After a while... ...

Mr Loh: Have you gain weight?

Me: I'm a girl!!!!!!!!! How can you ask a girl such a question? So rude! But yes, I have gain weight. I don't sleep enough so losing weight is difficult.

Mr Loh: Oh.

Mr Loh: Actually, you very clever. You know to call my home number. My mobile is in the other room, so, I cannot hear it.

Me: But you should not do that.

Mr Loh: You very clever and lucky. You actually can get me. My home phone is usually hung up after 9pm.

Me: How could you?

Mr Loh: Well, I usually sleep at 9pm. I sleep from 9pm till 6am the next day. So today, I only lose one hour of sleep. I'm glad you call me at 5am. Only one hour. Actually, I intend to go to the temple. But never mind, I will go after the case. I thought only two days left, so, can escape . Sigh... ... Tough luck. I have been activated twice.

Then... ...

Mr Loh: You finish your post grad already?

Me: No, I have one more module to complete.

Mr Loh: Why so long? You quickly finish la.

Me: But I am not clever like you. I didn't do well for my modules, so, I need to take another module this coming semester.

Mr Loh: You quickly finish your thesis. Write and submit quickly.

Me: Is not about the thesis. Is about the module.

Mr Loh: Then you quickly finish the module.

Me: Registration has not started yet!!!

Mr Loh: Are you going to work in another lab?

Me: No, I will not work in any other lab. I will work in another field or a different setting but definitely not another routine lab. But, if you do find me in another routine lab, I am probably working in an overseas lab.

Mr Loh: Oh, then I can "strike off" your name on my list.

Me: Why? You want to set up your own lab?

Mr Loh: When I won the one million dollar lottery.

Me: I know who you are going to employ when you have your own lab. You won't employ me one la. I know you very well. You are going to pick FS King and LG's mother.

Mr Loh: And other people.

Me: Ya, I know. (Then, I told him the names of the people whom he would employ)

Me: But the younger staff will not join you. That, I can assure you.
(But, who will want to work with Mr Loh if FS King and LG's mother were going to be in charge!!!??? It would be a night mare. FS King would be commenting and insisting the staff to use his rubbish methods and that LG's mother would be lazy and commanding the junior staff to do this and that while she just sat there, collecting an exorbitant salary and claiming credits for work she did not do!!!)

Anyway, Mr Loh had been activated twice already.You can read the previous entry ( I Scolded FS King) for update.

And then, Mr Loh talked about how he should not be losing weight while I argued that I had to lose weight. He then said it was alright to be fat. I was so confused. So, we talked until we had to do the case.

Mr Loh: Can you do the stain like FS King?

Me: No, I don't know how.

Mr Loh: Isn't it standardized?

Me: No. I don't know how.

Mr Loh: Wa, his staining is the most beautiful. I like his staining best.

Me: Is not that difficult. What is it that you are looking for?

Mr Loh: FS King's staining is the best!!!

I was thoroughly annoyed. Very very very annoyed.

Mr Loh: This stain is abit more pinkish.

Me: Oh, it was in eosin a bit longer.

Mr Loh: See, I told you to use FS King's method. His staining is the best. The most beautiful!!!

Me: Mr Loh, I left it in eosin too long. Is all about timing.

Mr Loh: FS King's stain is the most beautiful... ...

Me: ... ...

So, after the case, I told him he could leave first. He really left first. He did not even bother to look after my bag when I went to do other duties.

Later the day, I told Missy V and my mother what happened today. Missy V was shocked that Mr Loh was impressed with FS King's staining!!!

As for my mother, she sees no future if I do end up with Mr Loh. He is way way way toooooo pampered to know how to love his wife, should he have one.

Mr Loh... ...
